Congratulations to alumnus Adam van Niekerk nominated for ISMRM Young Investigator Award
Alumnus Adam van Niekerk is named as one of three finalists for the ISMRM I.I. Rabi Young Investigator Award given for original basic science research in magnetic resonance. Adam graduated with a PhD in biomedical engineering in 2019 under the supervision of Prof Ernesta Meintjes and is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden.
The nomination is based on his PhD work done at CUBIC, and published in Magnetic Resonance in Medicine: "Toward "plug and play" prospective motion correction for MRI by combining observations of the time varying gradient and static vector fields".
This is a huge honour: the ISMRM is the premiere society for MRI research globally with more than 7000 papers typically presented at the Annual Meeting. The award winner will be announced on Thursday 13 August at the ISMRM & SMRT virtual conference and exhibition.
